Theme: Pasko ng Pamilyang Pilipino sa Makabagong Panahon
Filipinos are very traditional when it comes to celebrating Christmas. Wherever we spend Christmas, be it out of town, out of the country or just at home, whether or not a person is celebrating with his or her family, we never fail to follow tradition. There are many ways people celebrate Christmas to give it a modern twist. It is not a sin to modify one's celebration of this joyous season to suit the changing time. But Christmas isn't really complete without certain aspects.
Every Christmas, our family makes sure that we celebrate it the Filipino way. We put up lanterns and parols that may be bought from the streets of San Juan, we put up a Christmas tree, attend simbang gabi, eat puto bumbong, and have a hearty noche buena with the best Filipino dishes. Amidst following these traditions, we never forget why we're celebrating Christmas. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. It exhibits love, hope, salvation and happiness.
I'm finally done with my Christmas card entry. It is a collage of small tree pictures forming a big Christmas tree with presents. On the left side are pictures of a parol, lantern, simbang gabi, and the nativity. These are the symbols of Christmas and what makes a Filipino Christmas unique. On the left side are picture of puto bumbong with salabat, lechon, paella, pancit. These are foods that are always present in our noche buena. There aren't a lot of words in my card because I believe that the pictures itself send out the message. Also, I am very much passionate about photography. I hope you like my card. :)
